Teneo Achieves Palo Alto Networks Gold Partner Status To Capitalise On Next-Generation Firewalls


Teneo, a leading Infrastructure Optimisation specialist, has been awarded Gold Partner status by the leading next-generation firewall vendor, Palo Alto Networks, just three months after becoming an authorised reseller. The business is investing in the partnership, with Gold Partner status requiring Teneo to employ an in-house Palo Alto Networks accredited configuration expert, an accredited sales representative and to commit to on-going Palo Alto Networks technical and sales training.

Teneo is keen to exploit the market growth from next-generation firewalls. Analyst firm Gartner predicts that by 2014, 35% of all enterprises will have installed a next-generation firewall. According to a recent top 20 enterprise IT threats list from the SANS Institute, 80% of the IT threats listed are now application-based threats. Next-generation firewalls provide end users with the ability to control applications, users and content at the firewall. This is becoming essential as applications such as social media and collaboration tools have the ability to ‘hop’ from port to port, evading traditional firewalls.

With a pedigree in helping customers manage their networks and the applications running on them, Teneo sees Palo Alto Networks as a natural extension of its vendor portfolio which includes Riverbed, netForensics, Allot and Infoblox. Teneo will also stress the significant cost savings of centralising various firewalls and associated appliances into a single Palo Alto Networks appliance. Teneo reports capital expenditure cost savings of up to 80% through this centralisation activity.
