Riverbed Steelhead Audits

Changes are constantly occurring on the network and as a result, the optimisation settings applied to your Riverbed Steelheads on day one might no longer be providing maximum acceleration. Teneo recommends regular Riverbed Steelhead Audits every quarter or every 6 months to ensure you are extracting the best benefits from your Riverbed Steelhead investment.

Riverbed Steelhead Audits help to achieve the following:

  • Better understand the health and performance of your Riverbed infrastructure
  • Determine if you are achieving the expected optimisation benefits
  • Receive recommendations from Teneo on enhancements to your Riverbed deployment
  • Discover new ways to use new features on the Riverbed appliances
  • Improve bandwidth optimisation across key business applications, thus avoiding costly bandwidth upgrades
  • Verify that the appropriate Steelhead model is being used at each site
  • Make any Steelhead renewal decisions
  • Confirm the level of Steelhead maintenance required

The format of the Riverbed Steelhead Audit typically requires a Riverbed-certified Teneo engineer to attend site in order to gather data from each Steelhead appliance. Following the site visit, Teneo will prepare a detailed report, to include an Investigative Summary, Additional Teneo Observations and Recommendations and Next Actions. This report will then be presented back to the customer during a follow-up meeting.

As part of its investigation, Teneo will evaluate several site-specific factors including the number of users, the WAN bandwidth available and the amount of data being accessed over the WAN at each customer site, taking into account the customer’s future growth and lifecycle of network devices.

Additional analysis will cover:

  • Riverbed Steelhead Appliance Details
  • Traffic Summary
  • Optimised Bandwidth Capacity Increase
  • Connection History Report
  • Optimised Throughput On The LAN
  • Optimised Throughput On The WAN
